Illustration Friday :: Signs
Sheamus' inability to heed road signs finally caught up to him!
This illustration was rendered entirely in POV-Ray. The scene was inspired by a sign our family saw along a roadside during our trip through Southern Ireland in 1999.
Here is the original photo:
The Cooper model is copyrighted by Gilles Tran and was originally used here. Model is used under Creative Commons Attribution License. The trees were generated by POV-Tree tree generating program. The sign graphic was drawn in Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI and mapped to the model sign. The scene took over eight hours to render on a 1.6 Pentium 4 PC with 512 MB RAM.

Funny. Even the original. Also some cool links... and a dangerous portal to a great deal of distraction. /:-P
Just fantastic piece. The idea and the rendering, and fun, doesen't get much better than this. Wow
haha funny, good demonstration of not reading signs. nice job on the water too!
That is a great real-life sign, and you've put it to wonderful use. More and more impressed by Pov-Ray (and your applications of it) all the time.
Excellent job of incorporating a memory! I'm glad we don't have signs like that here !
Very cool scene, excellent work.
